This blog will talk about St.Nick or Santa Claus. Maybe some of you dont know this but St.Nick was real. He was a very Giving Saint. St.Nick had a very rich family,But then his Parents died while he was still young. Obeying Jesus' word he selled all he had to the poor.He did every thing he could to help the needy.When he saw a Poor family that owed a lot of money to the Roman empire He helped him out by Secretly sliding Gold coins down his Chimney! They could finally pay the Roman Empire back thus started St.Nick's giving streak. After He we was made Bishop of Myra now known as Turkey (back then Controlled by the Roman empire) he still kept giving and giving! Making gifts for the children and helping families in need. The Emperor Started getting sick of St.Nick's good deeds and his way of talking,most of all he didn't like how he spread the Word of God by relating to the people. so he arrested a bunch of Christians and Set there Church on fire! (Since there weren't Many Christians there that was probably the only Christian Church for that period) Then he arrested Bishop Nick! He was Arrested for Many Many years. After the Prisons being so filled with Christians believers and Priests they were all let go,but St.Nicholas was already very advanced in his years. After he was let Go he even gave food to the men that arrested him! He did More Christmas Masses,and died very happily. Lets pray that we may live a life like St.Nick and ask him to pray for us to the Lord our God,and let us glorify God for giving us such a Charitable Saint.

St.Francis of Assisi

Hello Brothers and Sisters. This Blog will be about St.Francis of Assisi. St.Francis was originally called Giovanni which means John in italian. His father though, changed his name to Francis Because of his father's love for france. Francis was born in a very wealthy Family. Francis' Father was a merchant. Francis was very popular,Every body loved Francis! Even when he did things wrong he was awesome to them,though because of his coolness nobody could teach him right from wrong. Francis went to a lot of parties,and it is rumored that people who did evil things were attracted to him. He himself said he lived a life of sin. Francis was also a soldier,one day he went out to fight and he got wounded and captured,but he was ransomed,and even after that he kept doing the things he did before! Nothing much changed. On another day though when he was going off to battle he bought Gold armor (yes thats how rich he was) and he went to fight! He exclamed "I shall come back a prince!." He only traveled for one day,However,when God came to him in a dream and told him to go back to home. And so he did. The once popular Francis was now made fun of and called a coward. And his dad was furious because of the Money spent on the armor. After that eventually he started to feel a hunger for the spirit. He wanted to become Poor. Soon after he got the idea he slowly began to pray,more and more each day. He used to hide in a cave and cry about his sins. Eventually he made a pilgramage to rome. on the way there he saw a leper,his first reaction was to walk away of this disgusting man,but then he stopped and hugged him! Then gave him all the money he had! He stayed in Rome and became poor there and became a beggar. Eventually while praying next to an old Crucifix,called the San Damiono Crucifix,he heard God saying "Go francis and rebuild my house,which you see is falling into ruin." Thinking God ment the actual Church Francis hurried back to Assisi. He went and tried to give money to a Poor Priest. When he wouldn't talk it he threw it at him,then his father saw him and,to escape his fathers rath he hid in a cave for a month, When he returned he was called a mad man because he had mud all over him and he actually looked like a madman. His father same him and dragged him home. He was beaten and thrown into a dark Closet and locked in there. His Mother finally let him out and he became a priest. Later on he returned to his father stripped himself of his rich cloths and said "Before i called you my father on earth,from now on i want only to say 'Father who art in heaven.'" Also later on he decided to live in the woods. He tried to preach to people in the towns but they wouldn't listen so he started preaching to the birds and all of the birds started landing around him and listening to him preach! He also called the animals in the woods his brothers and sisters. He Started an order of monks that lived in the woods. And they preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. One particular day Francis woke up with the stigmata on his body! The Stigmata are the wounds of Christ on the body of another person. Francis Had the Holes of the cross on his hands and feet! He Also had the gash in his side. Eventually,after he started a convent and all,he started getting ill.
and St.Francis died October 3,1226.
Let us thank God for giving us such a beautiful FaithFul and Poor Saint so that he might be an example for us.
Let us ask St.Francis of Assisi to pray for us to the Lord our God.
